What this website collects, why, and who else sees it. It describes what the site actually does, rather than everything a website could do.

What we collect, and why

When you send us a quotation or a message

Your name, email address, telephone number, company, how you would like us to get back to you, anything you write in the message box, and for a quotation, the products and quantities in it and any promo code you entered. We use it to answer you and to prepare the quotation.

When you have an account

Your name, email address, telephone number, company, and the delivery and billing addresses you give us, so you do not have to type them again. Your password is stored only in a form that cannot be turned back into the password. Your account also works on the other websites we run.

While you browse

Building a quotation on this site is stored in your own browser, not on our server, until you send it to us. We do not keep a record of which pages you look at.

Payment

This site does not take payments, so no card details are ever entered here. How an order is paid is agreed on the quotation or invoice.

Cookies

This site sets a few cookies of its own, all but one needed for it to work. The sign-in cookie cannot be read by scripts on the page. The form protection cookie can, because that is how it works, and it holds only a random code.

• Your quotation. Remembers what you have added, so it is still there if you close the tab. It holds product codes and quantities and nothing else, and it expires after thirty days. A second cookie holds a promo code if you enter one, for the same thirty days.
• Signing in. Only if you have an account and sign in. Signing out removes it.
• Testing the site. A random code, so that when we try two versions of part of a page you keep seeing the same one, and we can count which version helps people find what they need. It holds nothing about you and lasts six months.
• How you found us. The site that sent you here (a search engine, for example), any campaign tag on the link, the first page you opened, when, and the kind of device. One cookie remembers your first visit for a year, another the current visit until you close the browser. It holds no name and nothing you type, is never shared, and is kept with an order or quotation request you send so we know how people find us.
• Form protection. A random value that stops another site from submitting forms here in your name. It holds nothing about you and lasts a week.

Who else sees your information

Our website runs on servers rented from Amazon Web Services, who hold the data on our behalf. Emails from this site are sent through our email provider, Resend, which handles your email address to deliver them. The carrier that delivers an order receives the delivery address.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. We would disclose it if we were legally required to, and not otherwise.

How long we keep it

Quotations and the records of orders are kept as business records. Messages and quotation requests are kept while they are useful and reviewed from time to time.

Asking us to change or delete something

Write to pec.sales@outlook.com or call (952) 949-2430 and ask. We will tell you what we hold, correct it, or delete it, except for records of completed orders, which we keep as business records.

Children

This site sells professional equipment to businesses and public bodies. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will change this page and the date at the top.
